Can, Rack or Roaster?
There are numerous accessories that can be used to cook this great recipe. What to use depends on how adventurous you are and where do you want to cook. Of course my favorite is the straight up can. This is really the essence of this style of cooking and about as red neck as you can get.
Beer Can Racks –If you are concerned about the can collapsing during cooking, there are racks available that can hold a can of beer and provide stability. They are easy to use and a zip to clean. Warning, these racks don’t keep the juices from dripping and will require a drip pan.
Ceramic / Porcelain Roasters – These types of roasters take the can out of beer can chicken. This type of stand acts both as a stand and the beer can, just pour the beer and spice rubs inside. The heat safe porcelain or ceramic makes for easy clean up and is dishwasher safe.
Stainless Steel Canister/Roaster – These are recommended if you are cooking this recipe in the kitchen. Stainless steel canisters are attached to a roasting pan for a convenient, one tray cooking tool. The canister holds the beer and spices while the tray catches all the good juices. These types of roasters are perfect for the oven.
